Here is the latest custom-painted box I finished in-studio. It's bright and punchy, just like the customer requested. I liked the result so much, I wanted to share the brightest splash of sunshine in my life at the moment!
Although not commissioned, I also created a companion box finished in gold-leaf, titled "Violette Carte Postale", named for the vintage, victorian postcards the top was designed after. This one will be placed for sale in the studio, and shown during the open house gallery, February 11th-13th.
The Centrifugal Eye's editor speaks up. Eve Anthony Hanninen blogs about the magazine's business, about poetry, writer's craft, editing, and her own personal efforts and goals.

Visualization Works!
Unbelievable. D's check arrived today, and it was for double the amount billed. The day before, I spent 15 minutes visualizing a check being handed to me with a $1 in front of zeroes. Maybe the zeroes were a bit fuzzy! Next time I'll add a few more.

Is Voodoo Keeping At Bay Throngs of Poetry Surfers?
I wasn't going to go political today, but the only thing on the news is the Presidential Inauguration and Parade. Seattle is holding a demonstration, and reports have some folks here burning a Bush effigy, drawn and quartered. I'm no Bush fan, but even I'm turned off by that sort of display. I mean, what happened to sticking pins?
